Results

The Captains e-courses, as stipulated in the project proposal, have been developed for all three Units of the Captains course, which focuses upon Communicative Maritime English learning. These e-courses are published and available for registered users on project partner AIT's innovative e-learning 2.0 system, Kwebo, at http://kwebo.ait.gr:8081, which accommodates for collaborative learning activities, including synchronous and asynchronous communication tools, forums, wikis, blogs, video-conferencing, shared folder systems, virtual classrooms, and more. The Captains e-courses have been designed and developed in full consideration of the tools available on Kwebo, thus providing a unique learning experience overall to respective learner communities and immense facilitation and accessibility to tutors of Maritime English themselves.

The Captains e-courses are now live on the Kwebo platform, with access available on request for seafarers and VET institution members. User credentials are available by completing the form found here, the data of which is used to analyse interest in the product in terms of target group demographics.

Furthermore, the Captains product is available as functional, standalone modules, which do not require access to the Kwebo system, and promote self-learning. These are available on DVD or as a download from the Captains product website. Those interested in participating in this self-study can complete the form found here to register interest and receive access.
